Like the generations that came before us, we are at a crossroads at St. John’s. We struggle to meet the needs of our expanding congregation, while working with church buildings and grounds that were built many years ago and need updating.
Our founders could have never imagined the church they built and made their spiritual home in 1956, would grow to nearly 430 families today! To accommodate this growth, we need more seats in the sanctuary, additional parking, an updated Kourmolis Center and a new Ministry Building to house our many ministries.
Guided by our core values of Love, Worship, Community, Learning and Service, we are excited to launch the Arise & Build Capital Campaign, a vision which will allow us to expand our church and continue to make it a beautiful house of worship for generations to come.

WHY ARISE & BUILD?
The Arise & Build Capital Campaign is the way we will achieve our vision of renovating St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church so our parish can continue to grow, serve and flourish for years to come.
The campaign name came from the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament. It’s a story about the Israelites returning from their exile in Babylon and finding Jerusalem in need of rebuilding. Nehemiah encouraged the people to, “Let us arise and build!” So they strengthened their hands for the good work. (Nehemiah 2:18) And they quickly rebuilt their city, making it better than before.
This campaign provides all parishioners with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to contribute financially to this worthy project. Every donation will be received with gratitude, respect and prayer, as each gift puts us one step closer to the goal. The goal is always 100% participation.
Our congregation will Arise & Build upon the foundation built by our founders, with a clear vision to serve today’s generation and leave a legacy for generations to come.

Your commitment to the Arise & Build Capital Campaign means more than just making a financial donation. It means prayerful giving that represents a sacred trust between you and God and you and our church. In fact, the most important part of your commitment involves prayer. We respectfully ask that you pray about what you will donate, and after making the offering, you afford Father Stavros an opportunity to pray for you as you present your gift.
The church is grateful for all gifts, in fact, a goal of the Arise & Build campaign is 100% parish participation. With 100% participation – regardless of the amounts pledged – every parishioner will have a stake in the new church and grounds. When the project is finished, we can all rejoice and enjoy the new church, knowing everyone took part in the building of it.
